Working in the studio on the painting 'Covenant'
As a painter, Malcolm, aka Barri, has held several exhibitions for his work and has limited edition prints on several of his paintings. He loves to paint and draw, and rarely leaves the house without a sketchbook.
After working as a freelance artist in London for a couple of years, Malcolm moved to Bristol and became a resident artist in the 'Leeky Gallery' on Park Street. It was during this time that he realised how inspiring it is to belong to an active creative community. This became one of the sparks that envisioned the inception of Joseph Studios, a supportive co-working artist community that Malcolm founded in Barton Hill. Malcolm has a passion for the wellbeing of individuals and communities and has become an advocate of the great health benefits of engaging in the creative process.
Whilst working closely with those recovering from life controlling issues, he saw first hand the whole-life benefits of engaging in creativity. Malcolm's philosophy is that like a great painting, we're all a work in progress, this and his own quest for personal development led him to create a 7-step course based on the practice of 'Physical Prayer' that individuals and groups can engage with to experience personal renewal.
